Abstract

Robotic surgery has emerged as a transformative technology in modern healthcare, offering precision, minimally invasive procedures, and improved patient outcomes. However, as robotic systems become more integrated into the surgical suite, the quality of human-machine interaction (HMI) becomes a critical factor influencing both usability and safety. This manuscript examines the current state of HMI in robotic surgery, identifies key challenges related to usability and safety, and explores innovative methodologies to enhance interaction design. By synthesizing literature from engineering, human factors, and clinical studies, the paper proposes an integrated approach that includes advanced simulation training, adaptive interfaces, and real-time monitoring to optimize surgeon performance and minimize error. The results indicate that improving HMI not only elevates the ergonomic experience of the surgeon but also significantly reduces intraoperative risk. These findings underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to drive future advancements in robotic surgery.
